I’ve been thinking about what the most important aspects of the Christian life are. As I poked around this extremely important subject, I settled on five things I believe are essential, irreplaceable components of Christianity for any one who wants to have a successful walk with God.
The are certainly more than five important aspects of Christianity, but this is a good start. Please prayerfully consider everything on this list, and provide us with some feedback. I would greatly appreciate it.
1. Be all in. Determination is the power source of consistency. A made up mind is a powerful force. If you can get determined to do something that God calls you to do, the only thing that can stand in your way is you. Count the cost and buy in (Luke 14:28-30; 1 Kings 8:61).
3. Be a giver. The best way to keep yourself from covetousness is to consider the needs of others above your own. Open hands are the result of open hearts (2 Corinthians 9:7).
4. Be a laborer. If you are busy doing kingdom work, you leave little time for anything else to compete for your attention. There is nothing more important than being a laborer (Luke 10:2).
5. Be a follower of Christ. You can’t walk in the wrong direction if you are following Jesus. If you don’t know how to follow Jesus, find someone who does and follow them as they follow Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).
